Newsflesh Trilogy: FEED ~ Book Review

I never thought that zombies and politics could mix together, until I read FEED. FEED is the 1st book of the Newsflesh Trilogy by Mira Grant (Real name: Seanan McGuire)

Feed is a Sci-fi novel set during 2039 where society is living with zombies. What I find unique in here is that the mankind wasn't wiped out badly by the zombies and having no electricity, internet, & whatnot. Instead, mankind is still thriving and people could live inside their homes like normal people(with added security of course).

I couldn't really say that this is a horror novel. It's not something that would make you turn on the lights at night and scared to go to bed. You might think this is jam-packed with a lot of zombie action, but it doesn't. But there are a couple of scenes where there are outbreaks and breaches where people would have to defend their lives. Bottom line, zombies here is something like a garnish or side-dressing. It's not the main dish.

If you're someone who likes blogging, zombies, and a bit of politics, then I bet you'll love this book!
I'm someone who isn't really into politics, nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading FEED.

I really liked the characters here, very well made and they have "depth" especially George and Shaun.  I also liked the side characters, I grew fond of Rick, Lois, Mahir, and Buffy.

To tell you the truth, It took me at least a year to finish reading this. Apart from the having 599 pages, I was really busy this year. (Which explains why I haven't posted in this blog since June of this year).

At first, it was kind of boring to read, but as the story progresses it becomes interesting(Another reason why it took me so long to finish it).

Out of 5 stars, I would give this book 4 stars.

This would be my 3rd Lucaille review =))

In person, the wig isn't really that flipped compared to the reference pic.
The flip is actually more concentrated on the right side.

I don't really like the top of the wig. :/
This is actually an Eiji(Prince of Tennis) wig that I used for my Meryl Silverburgh cosplay =))

In flash, the color of the wig seems to be like "blood red".
The fibers are very soft and manageable, you don't need to comb it to fix it.

I can say that people with big heads should try out Lucaille since they have a big head cap.

The Second Nackname(TSN) Wig Review

I was a bit disappointed with the color. I was expecting it to be a bit more blonde in person.

but still, I love this wig to bits <3
Not only that it doesn't shed easily, it's also fun to run my fingers in its fibers because it's so soft and smooth. xD
The fibers are thick and manageable~
Though, it has some frizzes on the side for unknown reasons.
I'm having difficulty inserting the wig on my head which sucks. >.<

Grand Young Wig Review

This isn't actually my first GY wig.

 I had 2 GY wigs before but I wasn't able to make a review for it.

**Note: This is a 2nd hand wig. The bangs were trimmed.

Though it's still thick xD

It tangles a lot yet it's so easy to fix.
I could say that the cap is...kinda small for my head. Compared to Lucaille where I can effortlessly insert the wig into my head.

Vogue Royal Cosplay Wig Review

I think Vogue Royal Cosplay is another wig re-distributor/reseller just like L-email.

Anyway, I got curious with its quality, so I bought one for my Zelkova cosplay~

So far, the only problem I have with the wig is at the top. It's a bit frizzy and hard to style.
I love the styling especially at the front ~

Eternal Lee isn't such a well-known brand in the Philippines, so I opted to try out this wig brand myself. Not only that, This is the most compatible wig for Mint from Threads of Fate. *A*

It was love at first sight *w*
Their clip-ons are thicker compared to other well-known brands.
Although, the first time I opened the package, the base wig was a bit frizzy so I combed it~
Sometimes, the color is too "vibrant" for my eyes whenever I take a picture of it xD
It has thick fibers and has good quality, its quality is like an albeit Grand Young wig.
It's also smooth and easy to untangle *A*

Anyway, I bought another Lucaille wig. Thus, another wig review!

If you're going to cosplay Okita Souji from HSK, I recommend this wig from Lucaille <3

This comes with 2 detachable brown extensions so you can cosplay Okita from the traditional version to the Western version.

BTW, you might need to cut the bangs a little so it'll fit in your forehead.

When you receive the wig, the 2 extensions are in a plastic separated from the wig.

You might get a little frustrated when attaching it, I recommend that you wear the wig first then attach the extensions so it would fit best for your head.

"The Poe Shadow" Book Review

This book is best for Poe-lovers and people who likes mystery, thrill, and history.

Personally, I really like the story but it's boring at the beginning that's why it took me a long time for me to finish it. You wanna know how many days, month, and years until I finished it? Well, it took me at least 1-2 years xD

If it wasn't for our reader's notebook, I won't be able to finish it.

Since I don't want to spoil you guys, I'll just say that in the middle of the book, it'll get more interesting. Sometimes I would smile or laugh while reading it and my friends would be like "Why are you laughing?" or "What's wrong with you?" with a weird face. 

My favorite characters are Bonjour(Yes that's a name) and the Baron Dupin <3

She's a very independent, stoic, intelligent, and strong woman.

As for the Baron , he's very charming for me xDD

I just love him and his personality <3

I really don't like the main character that much. Quentin Clark is....how can I say this....

obsessed with Poe and his death.

I like the way how Matthew Pearl wrote the book. It's very vivid and you can somehow have a clear picture of the events in your mind.

If you're going to read this book, I recommend that you have a dictionary besides you because there might be words that you don't know the meaning. I learned a lot of words from this book. hehe =)) 

BTW, In the website of Matthew Pearl, you can see/read the secret chapters of the Poe Shadow.

If you have already started reading the book, it's best if you can reread the chapter before the secret chapter so you can recall what happened.

L-email Review

I have heard of many positive feed backs concerning L-email wigs~

So I bought one for myself to see the quality.

This is the  wig that I ordered for one of my cosplays this year, Beatrix from FF9. Since there's no pre-styled for Beatrix, I have to make those curls myself xD

I'll be posting an article concerning how to do Beatrix's hair. :D

She had a promo last week buy 1 take 1 lenses for php700-750. Her regular price is Php600 each.

As you can see, it's also available in brown, grey, blue and green.

the diameter of this is 15.00mm so it's bigger compared to the regular ones. When I first put those on, there was a slight discomfort because it was my first time using a Dolly lens. But it'll eventually become comfortable after 3-6 mins.
The base curve for this lens is 8.70

 I like the design for this one <3

I think this is only available for plano and they don't have graded ones for this series :c

I like the effect of this lens in my eyes, hihi =3

SF 18 Geo Lens Review

SF 18 is part of the Crazy lens series of GEO.

At first, I told myself that I won't be using lenses for my cosplay, but then if I want to make an extra effort to my character, I need em xD

I really love this lens, the color is really seen unlike the others which are not that noticeable. 

You can also easily tell if the lens is at the wrong side because of the color(The wrong side is lighter)

The diameter of this lens is 14.2 mm while the Base curve is 8.60
